Hi my name is Kimo Kreis, I grew up in Kailua my whole childhood. I have the please of traveling all over the U.S. Mainland and several countries to train Jiu-Jitsu. I have moved back to Hawaii in 2014 and have been giving back to our local communities the gift of the Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle.

We teach Brazilian | Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. This is a form of martial art that was designed for the smaller weaker person to defeat a larger, stronger, more athletic person than yourself in some of the toughest environments possible the streets of Brazil where the law might not help you out and you can only rely on yourself.

So currently there are 2 main forms of Jiu-Jitsu one is the Self Defense aspect and the Sport/Tournament aspect. The biggest difference between the two is are you protecting against being punched in the face or are you not throwing any strikes. The Self-Defense side each technique makes sure you do not get hit first so if you used it in a real situation you can survive and defend yourself or your family. The Sport/Tournament: Most of us will never be in a real street fight. But the best way to simulate that is with tournaments. Since most people do like to train at 100% level with punches and kicks we do it without punches and kicks so that you can train everyday at 100% resistance or any level you want to. This is the biggest advantage over every other martial art.

Our mission is to allow  anyone regardless of age, size, gender to have a venue to get in shape, be able to protect themselves and loved ones, and create a community where everyone helps the person become better then the person they were yesterday.

“Great place for the whole family to train! Great for all skill levels.”
– Jessica Reese

“We love K-Team! Very family friendly & family oriented! Coaches are knowledgeable & my daughter loves them! My daughter has been going for about 2yrs now & she has shown an immense amount of growth mentally & physically. It’s always a good time at the adult classes as well! They teach at all skill levels. Highly recommend!!!”
– Kahakui Bruhn-Nakihei

“The staff and team there are awesome and very welcoming. Whenever I visit home, this is the place I visit even though home is in Salt Lake. The instruction is very clear and if you have any questions, they’re able to break things down even more. Their kids look very top notch as well. I’ve never seen a full class as I don’t have kids but when I showed up early, the kids are well behaved and practicing the technique.”
– Bradly Hanzawa

“Training with Kimo and the team is always a fun time. The instructors are knowledgeable and able to simplify/modify the techniques for short people like me lol. The atmosphere is clean and friendly, and I never leave disappointed. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for a good martial arts school.”
– Kara Kahue

“Where do I even begin to start to say how awesome this place is! I started training here about 5 or 6 years ago and I’ve loved every minute of it. It’s a very family friendly gym with a very good coaching staff. They are very experienced in what they teach and you can get very good training in any day of the week. I train and I also bring my son, he loves it just as much as I do. If you’ve never tried I suggest going by the gym and try out the free trial period and see where it can take you in life!”

“Best thing we ever did!!!! Moved back home from Ca about 4 years ago tried another jiujitsu academy where we didn’t feel very welcomed. My husband found Kteam online and went to check it out, we were sold!!!! This school is the best!!! Coaches are the perfect balance of wonderful instructors, fun, and disciplined! We have 5 children and all our kids train with Kteam ranging from 20-3 years old. My husband trains 3x a week and enrolled me in the women’s self defense class which I quickly became hooked on. Now i train as well after 11 years of sitting on the sidelines watching and we even train all together on Friday night with the family class! If you want to empower your children, increase your health, or build a strong family bond this is the place to do it!”
– Jennifer Diaz

“I began training Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in 1996 and over the years have become aware that there are those in the art who have a real skill-set in teaching which sets them apart from the rest. There are those who have it and those who simply do not. I can say with conviction that Kimo Kreis is the real deal. He is a great teacher. Kimo is one of only a handful of Black Belts who has learned Jiu-Jitsu directly under Grandmaster Relson Gracie. This is evident through Kimo’s teaching methods as he precisely follows the Gracie Family system of instruction. I highly recommend anyone with an interest in martial arts, especially Jiu-Jitsu, to learn from Kimo Kreis and his expert staff at the Relson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Kaneohe Team.”
